Dear colleagues,

It is an unfortunate reality that major cases that many of us have used in
our classes come from airplane crashes. The Lion Air crash has provided
another learning opportunity.

This article provides opportunities to discuss, among other things, the
ethics of utilitarianism and what our late colleague Ty Herrington called
the "axis of power test" for determining whether it is ethical to conceal
certain pieces of information.
