UTSA's Department of English invites applications for a full-time,
tenure-track position in Rhetoric and Composition, beginning in August
2020. Required qualifications: PhD in Rhetoric and Composition or English
(with a dissertation or publications in Rhetoric and Composition) by August
31, 2020. Preferred qualifications: 1) Areas of expertise might include one
or more of the following: cultural rhetorics (such as African American,
Latinx, etc.), rhetorics of health and medicine, disability studies,
digital/new media, and more broadly technical and professional writing; 2)
Ability to contribute to multiple degree programs, including a PhD program
that offers opportunities for advanced study and research in Rhetoric and
Composition. The successful candidate must demonstrate his/her ability to
work with and be sensitive to the educational needs of diverse urban
populations and support the University’s commitment to thrive as a Hispanic
Serving Institution and a model for student success.
