(cross-post widely)

Dear colleagues,

I'm writing to invite you to submit a proposal for the Georgia
International Conference on Information Literacy, Feb. 20–22 at Georgia
Tech Savannah. For about two decades, the Georgia International Conference
on Information Literacy has provided an international venue for discussions
of information literacy in the areas of higher education, library and
information sciences, and rhetoric and writing writ large.

Formerly held every fall, the InfoLit conference is moving to the spring
semester. Conference registration fees are reasonable and include some
meals. The conference location, near the Savannah International Airport,
provides direct access (20 minutes) to the sights of historic downtown
Savannah with availability of less expensive accommodations.

We invite teachers, professors, graduate students, and professionals to
join us for the opportunity to share research and best methods for teaching
and learning information literacy. The online call for proposals form is
open to accept proposals for individual presentations, panels, and
workshops.

Our keynote speaker is noted expert in information visualization Alberto
Cairo. Dr. Cairo is an author, an experienced journalist, and a professor
of journalism at the University of Miami. He will bring insights from his
latest book, *How Charts Lie: Getting Smarter about Visual Information*
(W.W. Norton, 2019). The keynote address will be on the morning of
Saturday, Feb. 22. The keynote reception, featuring an abbreviated address
and expanded time to meet and greet Dr. Cairo, is open to the public on
Thursday evening, Feb. 20.

The deadline to submit a proposal is October 18. Acceptance notices will be
returned by early November.
