Dear colleagues,
Last week, I sent out our tenure-track position announcement.

I’d like to give an important update to interested applicants, as we made a few tweaks.

The full announcement:
https://metrostate.peopleadmin.com/postings/1621

We are seeking to hire an Assistant Professor in Technical Communication and Professional Writing, with a scholarship/focus area in equity, diversity, and inclusion. This is a full-time, probationary position within the Department of Technical Communication and Interaction Design and is expected to start August 16, 2021.

In addition to the general area of equity, diversity, and inclusion, we would like to consider sub-specializations, as indicated in the announcement and highlighted below. This is the part where we made tweaks.

  * Sub-specialization, evidenced through educational background and teaching experience or research, in at least one of the following areas, for example:

     *   medical writing, ranging from public health writing to writing in a regulatory environment;

     *   workplace-focused ELearning/online training/learner experience design;

     *   accessibility;

     * other specialties may be considered.

  * Pedagogical approach that integrates anti-racism and cultural responsiveness.

Please share with your graduate students and other potential candidates. As the search committee chair, I’d be glad to answer questions by email.

Happy Holidays!
