Job Summary

The School of Literature Media and Communication (LMC) at Georgia Tech is
accepting applications for two visiting assistant professors in technical
communication. The appointment will be effective August 1, 2022 and
candidates will be eligible for a visiting faculty appointment for up to
two years. The successful candidates will contribute service, conduct
research, and teach a 2-2 load, providing classes that contribute to the
Communication thread of our undergraduate major, such as “Rhetoric of
Scientific Inquiry,” “Rhetoric of Technical Narratives,” and “Visual

Individuals in these positions will receive the same level of research and
mentoring support afforded to other faculty in LMC.
Required Qualifications

Ph.D. or terminal degree in an appropriate discipline. An earned doctorate
is required by the start of the appointment, and a background check must be
completed prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications

We seek a research active individual whose expertise in technical
communication and teaching experience strongly positions them to contribute
to our undergraduate major. We particularly welcome applications from
candidates whose work engages with issues of social justice broadly
conceived.

submit a cover letter (containing an overview of the candidate’s expertise,
qualifications, research interests, and approach to teaching technical
communication courses), a curriculum vitae, and a list of three references.
