Here's a SHOUT OUT to Sam Dragga for sharing the "ethics in the gun industry" post on 2/19/22. I crafted an online discussion around this topic in my graduate Technical Editing Class at UNA...and it turned out to be a riveting, passionate, critical discussion. Talking about guns is never an easy topic in Alabama, or anywhere for that matter. Again, thank you for sharing. I was considering taking my students discussion and crafting it into some kind of case study or publication...if time would ever permit. Tammy

Jump start your class discussion of ethics in technical communication in the gun industry with a visit to the website of a new corporation selling guns for children, Wee 1 Tactical (www.wee1tactical.com<http://www.wee1tactical.com<http://www.wee1tactical.com<http://www.wee1tactical.com>>).

Note the information about the JR-15, a lighter version of the AR-15 (automatic rifle) designed especially for ?young shooters? but claiming to be safe.

Note also the corporate logo: two skulls, each sucking on a pacifier. The ?boy? skull has a yellow spike of hair and a green pacifier, while the ?girl? skull has yellow pigtails and a pink pacifier.

I imagine a lively conversation.

Sam
