Subject: Writing & STEM CCCC 2023 Proposals

Dear colleagues,

You are receiving this message because you are a member of the Writing and STEM standing group of CCCC. If you no longer wish to participate in the group, let me know, and I will remove you from the list.

The group had a very successful CCCC in 2022. Our panels were well attended, and there were many new faces at the standing group meeting.

It is now time to propose Writing and STEM standing group panels for CCCC 2023. We've put together a brief survey to plan for next year. Specifically, the survey asks about your interests in participating in group-supported panels, round tables, and workshops based on themes in the topics we discussed during our March business meeting. If you would like to participate in a supportive submission process coordinated around these identified themes, please complete the survey by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 13. The survey is available at https://ucsb.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3W3j05vwKcDuPZk<https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fucsb.co1.qualtrics.com%2Fjfe%2Fform%2FSV_3W3j05vwKcDuPZk&data=05%7C01%7Ceap90%40pitt.edu%7Cc310de70ee704837926908da2f08d306%7C9ef9f489e0a04eeb87cc3a526112fd0d%7C1%7C0%7C637874012202420145%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=1C1JS2sRvOLgorlSwHpMdqKXLSSeQXwbgKaag%2BNOsdM%3D&reserved=0> .

Ideas and descriptions do not need to be fully formed at this time. We don't need full abstracts yet; we just need enough information to begin sorting people into panels. After you've expressed interest via the survey, we encourage you to start brainstorming and writing 100-200 word summaries of your presentation ideas so that you're ready to contribute to your panel or workshop group.

We'll proceed with panel/workshop formation, proposal drafting, and revision/submission according to the following timeline:

  *   Complete survey: May 13
  * Groups are formed and contacted: May 16
  * Proposal drafts due: May 25
  *   Proposal feedback: May 26 and 27
  * CCCC Submission deadline: June 7

Thank you for your interest and participation in the Writing and STEM standing group at CCCC! For any further questions, you can contact Kate Maddalena (chair) at kate.maddalena at utoronto.ca<mailto:kate.maddalena at utoronto.ca> or Holly Shelton (secretary) at hshelton at uw.edu<mailto:hshelton at uw.edu>.

Please distribute this invitation to others in your network for whom this standing group and/or supportive submission process for CCCC 2023 would be relevant.

Best regards,

Writing and STEM standing group committee
