This is a 9-month, non-tenure earning visiting position which may be renewable for up to four years and is anticipated to begin August 2024. The position will have a 4/4 teaching load in both online and face-to-face modalities. The primary academic assignment for this position will be to teach introductory courses in technical communication. There may be opportunities to teach upper-level undergraduate courses in the technical communication major.



The position’s minimum qualifications are a master’s degree (for instructor) or a Ph.D. or terminal degree (for lecturer) in English or related field from an accredited institution at the time of hire, and successful experience teaching technical or professional communication.



Preferred qualifications include:

  - At least one year of experience teaching technical communication at the university level.

  - Interest or experience in teaching a variety of technical communication classes, such as introductory technical communication, writing for STEM majors, documentation, or project management.

  - Professional experience as a technical writer, project manager, or editor.
