<p style="background:white"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The successful applicant will direct the M.A. in Technical Communication Program at Texas State University and teach graduate and undergraduate courses in technical communication and other areas of
writing, <b>starting in</b> <b>Fall 2019</b>. S/he will receive the appropriate rank and title based on university and department established standards. </span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p style="background:white"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Duties include participation in established and growing graduate and undergraduate programs in technical communication, with classes taught online and face-to-face. Candidates are expected sustain a
significant, ongoing research agenda leading to peer-reviewed publication. A record of funded research is preferred. The teaching load is commensurate with duties that may include special research projects, administrative duties, supervision of theses, and

<p style="background:white"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Required qualifications</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt"> include a Ph.D. in technical or scientific communication or closely related field, with degree completed at time of appointment;
a strong, ongoing record of productivity in scholarly publication and research in technical/scientific communication; demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in technical/scientific communication; expertise sufficient to teach graduate courses
in core areas of technical/scientific communication and area(s) of specialization; and experience directing master’s theses and/or doctoral dissertations in technical and scientific communication.</span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p style="background:white"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Preferred qualifications</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt"> include demonstrated success securing grants for research in technical/scientific communication; demonstrated administrative experience
and success; research and teaching specialties in areas that diversify Texas State University’s current and proposed graduate program curricula; and ability to teach online and hybrid courses.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
