cultures change, the contexts in which individuals access and use information
shift in often unexpected ways.  This
situation means what constitutes usability and how to approach user <span style="color:windowtext">experience design is also in a continual state of
change.  In fact, the very context of use
can vary from the seemingly solid realm of the real world to the continually
plastic dynamics of cyberspace. Moreover, as emerging media change and are
changed by our interactions, the dynamics of context of use can shift rapidly
and in increasingly unexpected ways. 
Thus, what constitutes an effective approach to usability and user <span style="background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial">experience </span>design also
needs to shift to effectively address such factors.  For these reasons, we need to continually
review, reflect on, and -- if needed -- revise our approaches to these areas.</span></p>

Future of Usability and User Experience Design: Perspectives, Practices, and
Predictions,” and the objective is to bring together researchers in usability
studies, user experience design, and information and communication design in
order to meet with peer researchers in order to </p>

research in these areas</p>

presenting at the symposium – either via individual presentation or as part of
a 3-5 person panel session – are invited to submit a 250-300 word proposal to
give a research-based talk during the “presentations sessions” part of the
Symposium.    </p>
