<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">Millikin University’s English Department invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor of English to serve as Writing Center Director and teach courses for our English major and innovative
general education writing program, beginning August 2024. </span><span style="color:#212121"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p style="margin-bottom:19.2pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;color:black">Candidates will direct Millikin University’s Writing Center and teach three English courses per semester. The 3/3 teaching load will include a combination of first-year writing, writing
in the disciplines, and advanced English courses relevant to the applicant’s expertise and department needs. The Writing Center Director is responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate tutor staff who work with students
from across the university; leading weekly tutor staff meetings/trainings; marketing Writing Center services; conducting outreach to faculty and students; holding office hours to support tutors; and managing the Writing Center suite and budget. All English
faculty are expected to publish scholarly and/or creative work and engage in university service.</span><span style="color:#212121"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
