Languages, Literatures, and Writing: Assistant Teaching Professor of
Technical and Professional Writing to teach classes in online and seated
environments in technical and professional writing; advise students; and
provide professional, institutional, and/or community service consistent
with the mission of Miami University Regionals.  This is a continuing,
promotable, non-tenure-track position.  Position begins August 2019.

Required:   Ph.D. in English, Composition and Rhetoric, Technical
Communication, or a closely related field by date of appointment;
experience offering online courses or training; experience teaching in the
areas of technical and/or professional writing

Consideration may be given to candidates with experience teaching in both
online and seated environments; record of teaching excellence and
innovation; demonstrated ability to teach in one or more of the following
areas: medical writing, digital writing, and/or grant writing; experience
developing and/or managing online curriculum; or demonstrated engagement
with service.

The department of Languages, Literatures, and Writing (LLW) is a vibrant
department consisting of 24 full-time faculty serving students in multiple
majors, including a BA in English Studies (EGS) that can be completed
entirely at the Regionals as well as majors in Creative Writing,
Literature, Professional Writing, and Linguistics that can be started at
the Regionals and completed at Miami’s Oxford campus.   We have
approximately 75 EGS majors, who work closely with Regionals’ faculty.  All
full-time continuing faculty serve as faculty advisors to students in EGS
and other majors served by our department.  In the areas of technical and
professional writing, we offer courses in workplace writing, technical
writing, medical writing, digital writing, and grant writing.  Our
department seeks to expand its curriculum offerings through courses that
focus on social media and new media. The new faculty member would have the
opportunity to contribute to curriculum development.
