Position Description

Manages a sub unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures. Represents the sub unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions

  *   Communicate extensively with administration, faculty, and staff of both TTU and other universities via appropriate channels (e.g. mail, email, telephone, face-to-face). This may also include coordinating and attending meetings that may include a meal function.
  *   Compile, manage, monitor, and report on data from a variety of sources including but not limited to (a) TTU departments, schools, institutes, centers and colleges, (b) Institutional Research, (c) Office of Research Services and (d) peer institutions. The primary activity will relate to graduate program review processes and graduate faculty status but will include additional information requests as they arise. Reporting needs may require the creation of charts, graphs, and other presentation formats.
  *   Completion of tasks with a fiscal element including graduate program reviewer travel, event functions, meeting, and review-related events.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with two years supervisory experience; OR a combination of education and/or supervisory experience to equal six years.

Preferred Qualifications

  *   Extensive knowledge of the Graduate Program Review cycle, history, and procedures, especially as they pertain to Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) requirements and related elements including SACS-COC accreditation guidelines and the TTU Strategic Plan.
  *   In-depth knowledge of the IRIM and ORS data, methods and collection.
  *   Extensive cordial network with chair, dean, faculty and department contacts extremely beneficial.
  *   Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and One Drive as well as Internet search and Sharepoint management.
