But don’t forget to analyze readers!  Otherwise, you could say the wrong thing and not intend to do so.

Example:  A colleague was asked to explain something she had written.  She responded:  “I don’t have time to explain this.”

The colleague was not happy. We have to always hear what we say.

The cellphone isn't quite a Star Trek tricorder yet but it is getting closer.

With the disclaimer that I don't really know what I'm talking about, designing for mobile first disrupts or erases many of the genres that are the foundation of the conventional tech comm class.  I'm not saying that that these genres cease to be in use, but that many of their conventions tend to matter less.
