Dear colleagues,
We are conducting a research study funded by the CPTSC Research Grants to
explore the evolving dynamics of the academic job market in Technical and
Professional Communication (TPC). Specifically, this study seeks to
understand the skills in higher demand for tenure-track positions in TPC.
We invite those who have served on a search committee for tenure-track
positions in TPC within the last five years to participate (2019-2024).
Your insights will contribute to an insider's understanding of hiring
practices in our field, which will help shape future academic workforce
development strategies.
Participation involves a one-time, semi-structured Zoom interview lasting
approximately 30 minutes. The interview will cover topics such as hiring
practices, candidate selection criteria, and prioritization of skills.
Each participant will receive a $50 Amazon.com Gift Card upon completion of
the interview. Please note that participation is entirely voluntary, and
you are free to withdraw at any time without penalty.
If you are interested in participating, please provide your contact
information using this form: https://tinyurl.com/CPTSC2024. We will follow
up to schedule an interview at a time that works best for you. I've
attached a PDF for key information about the study.
If you have any questions about the study, feel free to contact the
Principal Investigator, Dr. Yeqing Kong at yeqingkong at gatech.edu, or the
Co-Principal Investigator, Dr. Chenxing Xie at xiecx at ucmail.uc.edu.
We greatly appreciate your time and consideration and look forward to
hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Yeqing & Chenxing
