Dear colleagues,
The Department of Technical Communication at the University of North Texas is currently seeking online adjunct instructors to teach in our growing program.
We’re especially interested in candidates who hold an MA in tech comm (or a related field) and/or have experience teaching tech comm at the college level, particularly in online modalities.
Most of our adjunct needs are at the lower-division level, particularly for our core service course, TECM 2700: Technical Writing.
Our online courses are fully asynchronous with no required meeting times. We provide a standard curriculum, including assignment descriptions, rubrics, and some built-in activities within a Canvas shell. Instructors are encouraged to customize the course by adding their content and instructional materials.
Key details:
* Course cap: 28 students
* Compensation: $4,231.50 per course
* Typical load: 1–2 courses per long semester; up to 4 sections (with potential for a 5th/overload)
* Location: Remote (with restrictions – see below)
Due to state labor laws, we are unable to hire remote employees who reside in the following states:
California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Hawaii, and Washington.
If you’re interested in applying, please submit a resume and transcripts to our online application portal: https://careers.untsystem.edu/jobs/adjunct-instructor-of-technical-communications-denton-texas-united-states
Or visit http://jobs.unt.edu and search for Job #510835
We’ll begin reviewing applicants immediately and will continue until our adjunct pool is full. Email me with questions.
Thank you,
-Ryan
