[ATTW-L] Editing textbook

Friends,
Oxford UP published Technical Editing<https://global.oup.com/ushe/product/technical-editing-9780190872670?cc=us&lang=en&> in 2019. I have it but haven’t used it in a class—at almost 600 pages it is too much for the undergraduate courses I teach, but it might work in a graduate course.
In my undergraduate Intro to Tech Editing course I use The Copyeditor’s Handbook and Workbook<https://www.ucpress.edu/books/the-copyeditors-handbook-and-workbook/paper> from UC Press and supplement it with other readings and activities (mostly editing technical texts).
I also wrote several short articles on editing topics not typically covered in textbooks, and I published them on my OER website here: http://groversenglish.com/craftofediting.php. These are free for anyone to use, and I’d love to publish similar articles if any of you have stuff you’d like to write (mine often stem from in-class lectures or discussions that I’ve given repeatedly).
Happy teaching!
David

You don't often get email from sab at udel.edu. Learn why this is important<https://aka.ms/LearnAboutSenderIdentification>
CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe.
I’d speak with editors of the book series at the WAC Clearinghouse to see if they might be interested.

Just curious, has anyone offered to help with a new edition?

Hi Folks,
I have a faculty member in my program who teaches editing and absolutely loves Technical Editing by Rude/Eaton. Because it's out of print, however, it is very expensive for students to purchase. We're looking for suggestions on replacement texts that others have used instead, or any updates on possible reissues of that textbook.
Thanks,
Beth Kramer-Simpson
