[ATTW-L] CFP: Association of Rhetoric and Writing Studies

Dear Colleagues:

A reminder that the deadline for submitting a proposal for the third
conference of the Association of Rhetoric and Writing Studies is this
Friday, June 30.  The conference is set to take place Oct 11-12 in Austin,
Texas. The theme of this year’s conference is “Inventing Pathways and
Possibilities: Enacting the Promise of Rhetoric and Writing Undergraduate
Programs.” We invite you to think with us about the rough ground of inquiry
and invention in your undergraduate programs, whether they are existing,
planned, or aspirational. Please see the full call (attached) for more
information.

The conference welcomes proposals for individual presentations as well as
proposals for panels, roundtables, and posters. Presenters are limited to
two (2) submissions. Proposals will be accepted until June 30, 2018.

Dylan Dryer, Associate Professor of Composition Studies at the University
of Maine, will be this year’s keynote speaker. Dryer works at the
intersections of several topics (teacher-development, disciplinarity,
sociocognition, and writing assessment) and analytic frames (rhetorical
genre studies, corpus linguistics, and institutional ethnography).  He has
published in CCC, College English, JAC, the Community Literacy Journal,
Written Communication, Composition Forum, WPA and JBTC as well as
contributed chapters to collections like Naming What We Know, Keywords in
Writing Studies, Contemporary Perspectives on Cognition and Writing, and
Genre and the Performance of Publics.
