All:
I am writing to share an ad for a new position here at Miami University.
<http://jobs.miamioh.edu/cw/en-us/job/495178/assistant-professor> The
candidate will be in a tenure-track position in English, but also work as a
staff member with us in the Howe Center for Writing Excellence
<http://miamioh.edu/hcwe/>, specifically working on WAC initiatives with
our Farmer School of Business. This is an exciting opportunity to be part
of a team in a well-funded center
<http://miamioh.edu/hcwe/about/staff/index.html>, while also working
in an English
department <http://miamioh.edu/cas/academics/departments/english/> that has
a strong writing and rhetoric faculty
<http://miamioh.edu/cas/academics/departments/english/academics/graduate-studies/comp-rhet/faculty/index.html>,
a professional writing major
<http://miamioh.edu/cas/academics/departments/english/academics/majors/professional-writing/index.html>,
and one of the oldest writing and rhetoric PhDs
<http://miamioh.edu/cas/academics/departments/english/academics/graduate-studies/comp-rhet/index.html>in
the country.

The position requires a special skill set: a PhD in professional or
technical or business communication; experience as a WPA; experience
writing for business/industry; and interest in WAC. If you or someone you
know has this skill set, please apply! I am happy to answer questions about
the nature of the job and job duties.

We are pushing back initial review to Sept 20, and review will be ongoing
until the position is filled.

Please share widely and let me know if you have questions!
