[ATTW-L] REMINDER: Director, MA in Technical Communication (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) at Texas State University

The Department of English at Texas State University invites applications for the following tenure-track position (open rank): Director of the Master of Arts in Technical Communication (MATC) program.



The successful applicant will direct the M.A. in Technical Communication Program at Texas State University and teach graduate and undergraduate courses in technical communication and other areas of writing, starting in Fall 2019. S/he will receive the appropriate rank and title based on university and department established standards.



Duties include participation in established and growing graduate and undergraduate programs in technical communication, with classes taught online and face-to-face. Candidates are expected sustain a significant, ongoing research agenda leading to peer-reviewed publication. A record of funded research is preferred. The teaching load is commensurate with duties that may include special research projects, administrative duties, supervision of theses, and grant writing.



Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in technical or scientific communication or closely related field, with degree completed at time of appointment; a strong, ongoing record of productivity in scholarly publication and research in technical/scientific communication; demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in technical/scientific communication; expertise sufficient to teach graduate courses in core areas of technical/scientific communication and area(s) of specialization; and experience directing master’s theses and/or doctoral dissertations in technical and scientific communication.



Preferred qualifications include demonstrated success securing grants for research in technical/scientific communication; demonstrated administrative experience and success; research and teaching specialties in areas that diversify Texas State University’s current and proposed graduate program curricula; and ability to teach online and hybrid courses.
