CFP and Announcement of Speakers for the 2019 Feminisms and Rhetorics Conference – “DIY Feminist Activism” – November
13-16, 2019 at James Madison University, Harrisonburg VA

The Feminisms and Rhetorics Conference hosting committee at James Madison University is pleased to announce keynote and plenary speakers for this year's conference.

Our keynote speaker is Mona Haydar, an activist, artist and rapper whose debut song "Hijab (Wrap My Hijab)" was named one of 2017's top protest songs and one of 25 top feminist anthems of all time by Billboard. We are also excited to announce our two plenary speakers: Kristine Blair, Professor and Dean of the College of Arts and Social Sciences at Youngstown State, and Lisa Melonçon, Associate Professor at the University of South Florida. Both Blair and Melonçon are prolific scholars, tireless mentors and important voices in their fields.
