The Department of Humanities and Communication at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott AZ, is seeking applicants for a 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Professional Writing. The Department offers a range of general education courses and a Humanities minor. We collaborate closely with other departments and programs to support the University’s core curriculum and STEM-related missions.

The successful candidate will teach a 4/4 load of undergraduate courses in professional writing, technical writing, business communication, as well as other writing-related courses that fit the department’s needs and the candidate’s interests. They will be expected to support the department, college, and campus through service as well as cultivate and maintain a research agenda in the candidate’s area of expertise.

Requirements include an earned Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition, Professional Writing, or related field at the time of the appointment, August 15, 2020. The candidate must have experience teaching writing courses at the college level as well as evidence of scholarship and an interest in professional development.
