[ATTW-L] Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Technical Communication at University of Houston-Downtown

Dear ATTW Colleagues:

The Department of English at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) invites applications for one or more tenure-track or tenured positions at the rank of either Assistant or Associate Professor of Technical Communication, to begin August 2021. The Department offers Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Technical Communication.  The ideal candidate will have an active research agenda with preferred expertise in social justice. Additional areas of interest include: research methods, environmental writing, editing, and legal writing.  Experience teaching at the university level, applying for external grants, and/or working in industry is preferred.  The successful candidate will teach upper-division and graduate courses in their area(s) of specialization as well as TCOM 3302: Business and Technical Report Writing.  Publications in the candidate’s field of expertise and university service are required for tenure.

The teaching load is 4/3 with a 3/3 load in the first year on the tenure track and continuous adjustments for graduate teaching.
