[ATTW-L] Missouri S&T Hiring NTT in Technical Communication for Fall 2020

The Department of English and Technical Communication at Missouri University of Science & Technology is seeking applications for a full-time, ranked, non-tenure track assistant professor of technical communication beginning in Fall 2020. We invite applicants with a specialization in technical and/or professional communication and emphasis on visual communication and multimodal writing.
We encourage applicants who have experience teaching technical, professional, and/or scientific communication in a variety of modalities and who can demonstrate innovative and rhetorically aware incorporation of industry standard design and communication tools in these courses.
We especially encourage applicants with interest in any of the following areas:

  *   Visual communication
  *   Accessibility
  *   UX
  *   Multimodal writing
  *   Digital humanities or digital rhetorics
  *   Cultural rhetorics
The successful candidate will be prepared to teach courses at all levels in our department’s undergraduate and graduate programs in technical communication. Ample opportunities exist to develop new courses or reinvigorate existing course designs within the department. The anticipated teaching load for this position is 4/4, with opportunities for summer appointments if desired.   *   Master’s degree in Technical or Professional Communication or related field
Preferred Qualifications

  *   Ph.D.  Technical or Professional Communication or related field
  *   Experience teaching professional and/or scientific writing
