Tech writing is standard practice in Engineering programs. At Toronto, ours are integrated within the Engineering curriculum, mostly associated with Design courses. They offer a natural fit. So, I’d encourage you to look for partnerships among your engineering colleagues. That’s where we began 27 years ago.
Great models exist at most of the strong engineering schools.
Happy to share more if you’re interested.

Our tc department is housed in Engineering, so we do what you are describing as sop. I’d be happy to talk with you.

Following. Mine is considering a similar offering and for first years. I’d love to learn about what folks are doing / have done to make these accommodations.

Thank you

Hello everyone--

My department is thinking of offering some of our Intro to Technical Writing courses targeted specifically to our science-based/STEM majors on campus.

I'm having a hard time finding examples of universities that offer such a course. Does anyone know of/teach such a course at your university? I'm wondering what assignments would be in such a course?

Thanks! I appreciate your help.
