If you are looking for the latest prominent example of technical communication discussing legal issues, consider the 44-page indictment of Donald Trump (and personal aide Waltine Nauta) released this afternoon by the US Department of Justice. The indictment is available at https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.flsd.648653/gov.uscourts.flsd.648653.3.0.pdf.

Note the variety of rhetorical techniques adopted in the indictment, from the descriptions and definitions in paragraphs #1 to #21 on pages 1-27, to the detailed narrative (including tables and photographs) in paragraphs #22 to #75 on pages 8-27, to the legal language detailing 39 crimes in paragraphs #76 to #96 on pages 28-44.

This example could also offer instructive comparison/contrast with the earlier 16-page indictment of Trump for 34 crimes at https://www.manhattanda.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Donald-J.-Trump-Indictment.pdf and the 12-page narrative of the crimes at https://www.manhattanda.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Donald-J.-Trump-SOF.pdf.
