Dear Colleagues,

I am writing to let you know that Texas A&M is hiring a lecturer in English
with a desired specialization in the teaching of technical editing to begin
in August 2024.

The full description of the job can be found through the application portal
in interfolio here: https://apply.interfolio.com/143002

We're hoping to find someone who can assist with our Technical and
Professional Editing course (Engl 320), which has become a bottleneck for
our growing professional writing minor
<https://catalog.tamu.edu/undergraduate/arts-and-sciences/english/professional-writing-minor/>.
I have been teaching this course for the last 8 years and find the students
wonderful and excited about learning and practicing advanced comprehensive
editing skills. This is an advanced writing course in an extensive
curriculum that includes other courses in writing, rhetoric, and digital
composition, which the hire will also be able to teach as needed.

Our lecturer positions at Texas A&M are teaching positions that, while not
tenure track, are intended to be (and are structurally set up as) long-term
positions (contingent on satisfactory performance). The positions offer a
competitive salary in a town with a reasonable cost of living, and a
three-tiered promotion system that parallels our Instructional and Research
tracks.

I'm happy to answer questions about this position at jdicaglio at tamu.edu.

Best,
Josh DiCaglio
