Colleagues,
We are very pleased to share the news that the latest issue of the *Rhetoric
of Health and Medicine *journal is now live!
As co-editors of the issue Molloy, Holladay, and Melonçon point out, this
issue highlights "notable examples of the range of topics and approaches
that scholars are considering in this vibrant arm of RHM work."
In the issue, readers will find:
- a theory of *"distributed and mediated ethos"* in mental health call
centers in Fernando Sánchez's lead article;
- an examination of *19th century American women's memoirs* from asylums
in Pam Takayoshi's article;
- a historic tracing of the *origins of PTSD* in post-Vietnam syndrome
in Lenny Grant's article;
- an analysis of DSM-III's* establishment** of a professional style for
psychiatry* in Patty Kelly's article;
- and, finally, an excellent *dialogue on teaching and researching with
a mental health diagnosis*--a conversation that meditates on academic
ableism--from lead author Ann Green, with Alyssa, Lucía Durá, Patrick
Harris, Leah Hellig, Bailey Kirby, Jay McClintick, Emily Pfender, and
Rebecca Carrasco. This dialogue is open access here:

The full issue can be found here:

Please share widely.
Most Sincerely,
RHM Assistant Editors
